Around 300 participants joined the bicycle ride from the old Buna bridge cycling around
Shkodra lake to Shiroka town and back. Participants included young people from
Shkodra, cycling enthusiasts from various associations, professionals from cycling
federation, other members of the local community, EU Member States Ambassadors and
staff members, EU Delegation staff members and Europe House team members.
After reaching the finish line, participants were greeted by the famous actor Zyliha Miloti,
EU Ambassador Romana Vlahutin and Shkodra Mayor Voltana Ademi. Celebrations
continued with music, entertainment, traditional dance and plenty of food and drinks.
“There is no better place than Shkodra to start Europe Week, a celebration of Europe, as
one of the oldest European cities in this part of the continent,” said Ambassador Vlahutin
as she addressed the bikers at the finish line.
