“Balkan Futures” project is implemented by the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EU ISS) and supported by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB). The project consists of the series of expert meetings/workshops that will were held in the Balkan capitals and in Brussels from January to March 2018.
The participants at the workshops were the experts from the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia) with the expertise in different fields (political science, security studies, economics, law, human rights, etc.). The aim of the workshops is to provide a forum for in-depth discussions and analysis of the regional trends, as well as a reflection on the main drivers that will shape the Western Balkans in the future, notably by 2025, when the next enlargement phase is expected to occur.
